Apparently neither of the 2 persons who were interested in getting a paddling erg purchased the machine Speedstroke that Michael of Ecomarine described above.

Hi all
The Speedstroke erg in question is indeed still available and sitting here at our shop. We’ve had a few inquiries, but everyone seems to be surprised by the cost.
These are pricey units, and we are selling it at our cost basically, so if anyone is interested they would save a couple of hundred dollars over ordering one directly from KayakPro.
I have to say that the newer “gym” spec Speedstroke is a superior unit, as they have re-thought the way the ropes attach to the fly wheel and it is much more user friendly to use ie the ropes don’t keep slipping off all the time, forcing you to stop and re-set them.
Is is an awesome unit, I used it a little bit last winter and have used it extensively to coach people on the forward stroke before even getting them on the water. I cannot recommend this unit enough.
I only wish I had the cash to pick it up for myself! The only other unit out there that I think is worth an investment is the Dansprint, which is almost twice the price of the Speedstroke (but has the extra features and functionality to back up that price difference).
Jeff, if you are looking at picking this unit up for Burnaby, get in touch with me at your convenience, i’d be happy to help out the club with this at a slightly better price.

I will be looking for a HPSki in Jan. I like the feel of EPIC V10. The L model concerns me for bigger waves. Want to keep weight below 26lbs. I’m in a Fenn Mill. (spooky in big waves but havent tipped. dont have fun in it. want more stable.) Is the Huki S1-X spec. as fast as Epics I hear they are real stable? I really like sitting up and getting over my paddle.( like in a
K-1) Is Epic V10s the only ski like that?

Hi. Im looking at coming over to BC during the course of the yyear and wanna bring some surf ski’s over from South Africa. Mainly Kayak Centre surf ski’s – excellent in big wave conditions and new designs are top of the range(Fenn Rivals and one of the biggest producers) and possibly some kayak’s.
